Thank you so much for creating the books for our family. You are a true professional and made it look easy. Both of the dads were crazy about you and looked forward to their time with you. We thank you so so much for everything. You're the best!

You're an excellent interviewer that brings the best out of interviewees.

Besides being amazing at what you do, you have integrity and are extremely professional—this is why I trusted you to take on this project. It was the best gift I could have given to my family. It was good that I waited until all the other Christmas presents had been opened before handing out the books since the living room turned into an instant library as everyone immediately started reading. My dad, especially, loved the book. He has read it cover to cover many times and has shown it to his relatives and closest friends. This whole process has helped to bring our family closer together, giving everyone more knowledge and appreciation of each other’s histories and perspectives. I am especially looking forward to the reaction of the kids to some of the stories which they will read for the first time.

I did this because my kids and grandkids might know most of my story, but the great-grandkids probably won't be able to hear it from me. I'm really happy it's all there in the book now. I'm amazed at how much I remembered. You did a great job. You're very easy to work with.

A special thanks to Jennifer Campbell of Heritage Memoirs, whose endless patience during this two-year project has been critical to its completion. Would you believe about 20 manuscript revisions plus trying to organize hundreds of photos, many dog-eared and without names or dates? She's been amazing.

You amaze me anew. I don't know what I was expecting...the raw transcription seemed very odd to me, especially since I didn't realize that Mom finished so few sentences and the bare transcription didn't sound like her at all! Then I read your version of same and discovered that you captured Mom and returned her to the story. Brilliant.
Kathleen Eyman, Toronto, Ontario
Great job, Jennifer! I am delighted we went with a professional writer because it sounds so much like Mom and Dad but it is also very readable. I experienced that odd feeling I get when I finish a really good book, like I am swimming up from deep water into my real life and feeling sad that I am leaving dear friends behind. But this time, the book and the people ARE my real life, and wow, does that feel great! I liked the last sections where Mom and Dad speak interactively and kibitz; so very realistic. Thank you for this amazing gift of history, and an important family life story.

This has been quite an experience. The children have asked me why don't I write some stuff down and I say, I'll get to it, but never have and probably never would have. It's such a massive pile of facts and memories and everything, I never knew where to start. You really need the help of someone like you that asks questions, some of which are esoteric, but they make you think, and then you take another step and you think about something else. It's a wonderful way to talk about your life and it never would have been done if we hadn't had this experience. Thank you very much. Great job.

Jennifer, thank you, thank you, thank you. I mailed several books this week. My brother is having trouble reading it. His eyes tear up and he has to dry them. The whole family is getting together today in St. Louis to discuss it.

I didn't think I had anything to say, but you drew it out of me. I started doing this for my family but I have enjoyed it so much, I think it was more for me.

Thank you for your magnificent work. I don't know how you made sense of it all, but you did!
Marie-Christine G., Kingston, Ontario
This is really a dream come true for me. I wanted my grandkids to know what it was like growing up on a farm in those days. Thank you for your fine work.

Jennifer worked with me to produce a wonderful book of my family’s history, designed for my children and grandchildren. She guided me through an oral history. Somehow she managed to edit it into a logical text, and yet according to friends “kept my voice”. Jennifer had the lay out done professionally, with lots of photos, and beautifully bound. All the people to whom I have given a copy, have been surprised and delighted with the book. Many thanks Jennifer.
